Time to refresh and restart in the New Year

With the beginning of New Year comes the desire to set goals, draft resolutions and promise ourselves healthful change. It is often the small shifts that we make which will lead to positive change. In order to avoid feeling overwhelmed with the desire to improve the way you prepare food and eat, begin with some simple steps such as cleaning out the fridge and committing to the purchase of one or two fresh fruits and vegetables per week to toss in a comforting soup or use on top of a fresh salad. While food trends may lead us to more complicated fare, the lure of simple comfort food at this time of year will never go out of style! And while you are sipping on that warm vegetable laden broth, you may just feel motivated to expand that resolution list and take a winter solstice walk.
